the artist Marieke Blokland
In Marieke's fine artwork one can still see her love for graphic design because of the usage of - handcut - stencils, rubberstamps and elements of type and symbols.
Themes she often uses are: hiding*, shelter, protection, concealing, theatrical sceneries, fragments, waste, desert, rage, rest(less), silence, calmness, searching, standing still, passing, going away, staying.
At this moment she is particularly
busy with the theme "Graphical environments or hiding places", searching for the ultimate graphical reproduction of her perfect shelter. ◄
